Thankyou for taking the time to blog with us. Just a little information to tell you who we are…
I was born into a Christian home and reared on a farm just outside the little village, Coagh, in Mid Ulster, Northern Ireland. From an early age I was always aware of my need for salvation. It was on the 2nd December 1979 that Jim Smyth (OMS missionary in Columbia), led me to the Lord.
After leaving school I spent one year in Loughry Agricultural College, Cookstown trying to learn how to farm!
In July 1990 I married Audrey and we have been blessed with two daughters.
The BSE crisis struck the cattle industry in the early 1990’s, so I took up a job in the local furniture factory to help pay the bills. The Lord began to work in my life, and I became unsettled in my workplace. In 2002 I enrolled on a day-release course in Belfast Bible College. I then felt the Lord calling me to go into full time study. So we sold our family home and farm and moved to Moneymore, where we are living now.
From 2003 to 2006 I further continued my studies at BBC where I gained a diploma in Theological Studies. During my time I had the opportunity to go on placement to Mozambique, where I later had the opportunity to lead an OMS team.
In May 2009, I enrolled in a correspondence course with Cranmer Memorial Bible College and Seminary and I graduated in May 2010 with a Bachelors Degree in Theology.
I also had the priveledge to be born into a Christian home. Like Robin, I too was reared on a farm, just outside Letterkenny, County Donegal. It was on the 23rd March 1979 in a meeting in Ramelton, Donegal that I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour.
After finishing school I moved to Dungannon, County Tyrone, to find work, where I was employed as an auxiliary nurse in Manor Court Nursing Home. It was here in Dungannon that I met Robin.
At the moment, I have now graduated with a 2.1 BSc (Hons) Food Managment and Marketing.
Although I do not know what the future holds, I do know that God will direct my path and that He will look after me.
May 2012 I completed my A’ Levels, and God has blessed me with good grades. At the moment I am taking a year out due to poor health. I am resting and waiting on God to lead me through this new chapter in my life. Trusting always what God says in Jeremiah 29.11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
